We're just over two months away from the sixth season of Arrow, however the powers that be behind the hut DC Entertainment drama are already starting to map out Season 7.
During the CW presentation at the Television Critics Association summer press tour earlier this week, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that the writers behind the show have already started discussing ideas for the seventh season.
"We’ve already started talking about ooh, we have a shape for season seven already. This is the earliest we’ve ever had an idea for a season that far ahead, but it’s come out of our conversations about season six."
Guggenheim also went on to assure fans that his team will be able to end the show as planned when the time comes - even without a full season notice.
"I think we’ve always had an endpoint in mind. We’ve always known how we want to end the show. That end point doesn’t require X number of seasons. If we had to, we could work towards it as long as we knew with enough leeway, we could work towards the moment we’ve been talking about since day one."
Oh, and in regards to that shocking Season 5 finale and what it will mean moving forward...
"Spoiler alert, we didn’t kill off everyone except for Oliver and one person. He still will have a team. The question is what is the composition of that team and how are they all affected by the trauma of what happened at the end of last year. For us, it’s more than a binary thing of who lives and who dies. There are consequences that we’re also playing around with as a result.”
Starring Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Willa Holland, Juliana Harkavy, Rick Gonzalez, Echo Kellum, Manu Bennett and Paul Blackthorne, Arrow returns for its sixth season on Wednesday, October 12th at 9pm.
