Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor has entered talks to voice the villainous Scar in Disney’s live-action re-imagining of the 1994 animated classic, The Lion King.
Iron Man and The Jungle Book helmer Jon Favreau is directing the new film, which also features the voice talents of Donald Glover, James Earl Jones and John Oliver among others.
In the 1994 animated classic, Justice League actor Jeremy Irons voiced Scar, a traitorous lion who kills his brother Mufasa in an effort to gain rulership of the animal kingdom.
The new movie is currently shooting in Los Angeles.
Chiwetel Ejiofor most recently played the sorcerer Mordo in Marvel's Doctor Strange.
