Milla Jovovich is turning to the dark side!
Known for portraying the heroic Alice in the Resident Evil movies, the actress has joined the cast of the upcoming Hellboy reboot as the villainous Blood Queen. This marks her first major franchise role since the latest installment of the Resident Evil series hit the big screen earlier this year.
In the comics, the Blood Queen was a former student of Merlin and one of Hellboy's most fearsome villains. After betraying her teacher, she would become obsessed with wiping out humanity.
Neil Marshall is directing the new film, which stars Stranger Things actor David Habour in the lead role, and Ian McShane as Professor Broom. Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Mike Richardson are producing. Andrew Cosby is currently working on the latest draft of a script by Christopher Golden, Aron Coleite and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
Filming should begin later this year.
