Riz Ahmed, who portrayed the ill-fated former Imperial pilot known as Bodhi Rook in Gareth Edwards' Rouge One: A Star Wars Story, has entered talks to join Sony's Venom, the studio's first spin-off in a shared universe based around select Spider-Man characters.
His role is currently being kept under wraps, however, sources have informed The Hollywood Reporter that he may end up portraying the villainous Carnage in the film.
Tom Hardy is starring as the titular character.
In the comics, the character is a photographer known as Eddie Brock who, when bonded with an alien symbiote, becomes Venom. Over the years, the character has been a nemesis of Spider-Man, as well as an anti-hero and defender of the innocent.
Ruben Fleischer is directing Venom, which opens in theatres on October 5th, 2018.
