Two More Join The Lion King

The cast of Disney's The Lion King continues to grow.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Luke Cage actress Alfre Woodard will voice Sarabi, the mother of Simba, in the live-action remake of the 1994 animated feature. Additionally, John Kani will portray trusted royal adviser Rafiki.

Madge Sinclair portrayed Sarabi in the 1994 version, and Robert Guillaume voiced Rafiki.

Kani and Woodard join a cast that already includes the likes of Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, John Oliver, Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner. Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor has also entered negotiations to voice Scar in the Jon Favreau flick.
