Earlier this month, word broke that director Matthew Vaughn was setting up a new studio to helm everything from a Kick-Ass reboot to a Hit-Girl solo film. When it was announced, many fans wondered if this meant that Chloë Grace Moretz would be reprising her role the purple haired vigilante in the new films, but it doesn't look like that'll be happening.
Appearing at the Provincetown Film Festival, the actress sadly confirmed that she's done with the part, and has no interest in returning to the role of Hit-Girl.
"I love the franchise, I think the first movie was really, really special. I wish the second one had been handled in a little bit of a different way. Because I think we were all kind of looking forward to something a little different than what happened with it all. As much as I love the character of Hit-Girl, I think she lives and survives in Kick-Ass, and I kind of want to keep her there. I kinda wanna keep everyone’s mind in Kick-Ass. So I don’t think there will be a Kick-Ass 3, at least I don’t think with Hit-Girl in it."
No cast or crew are attached to the numerous projects underway from Marv Studios at this time, though Matthew Vaughn will be serving in a production capacity.
