NBC Has Cancelled Timeless Once Again

Time has officially run out!

Saved mere days after cancellation last year, the fan-favorite time-traveling drama Timeless has been cancelled for a second time over at NBC. Despite this, the network and Sony Pictures Television Studios are in talks over a potential two-hour movie to wrap up the finale cliffhanger.

Created by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke, Timeless averages a 1.2 in the key adults 18-49 demo and nearly five million total viewers with seven days of delayed viewing and has maintained both a very loyal and extremely vocal fan base during its two season run.

Last year, the series was saved from cancellation after Sony gave up 50% of the show's ownership stake to NBC's Universal Television.

The show began when mysterious criminal Flynn stole a secret state-of-the-art time machine, intent on destroying America as we know it by changing the past. A team comprised of scientist Rufus, solider Wyatt, and historian Lucy must then use the machine’s prototype to travel back in time to critical events and undo the damage Flynn has done.

Timeless stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjić, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit.

John Davis, John Fox and Marney Hochman executive produce.
