The Birds Of Prey are heading our way.
Speaking with our friends at Collider, actress Margot Robbie revealed that cameras will begin rolling on the Suicide Squad spinoff in January 2019. Robbie will be reprising her part as Harley Quinn and serving as a producer on the project alongside director Cathy Yan.
Robbie also went on to discuss her vision for the film with the outlet.
"She’s got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang," she said of the DC flick.
"I wasn’t seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space," the actress explained. "So that was always a big part of it."
Following in the footsteps of Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, Robbie described the importance of attaching a female director to the spinoff.
"And then, of course, having a female director to tell that story," Robbie stated. "And giving a female director the chance to do big budget stuff."
A release date for Birds Of Prey has yet to be announced, but it is possible that Warner Bros. will reveal that in two weeks at their Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic Con.
