Review: DC Comics - Hawkman #5

Reunited, And It Feels So Good!

The epic adventures of Carter Hall continue today in the latest issue of Hawkman! We rejoin our hero just as he arrives within the fascinating world of the Microverse - and is reunited with his old Justice League buddy, Ray Palmer. The pint-sized super known as The Atom!

Within the boundaries of this sub-atomic world, Carter fills his friend in on what has been going on, thus allowing Ray to decipher that the past lives of Carter Hall leave clues for the Winged Wonder to follow in his quest to bring down the Deathbringers once and for all.

Unfortunately, the next clue on Carter's list leads the duo to a rather hostile sentient planet known as Moz-Ga, who would like very much to destroy Hawkman and Atom for stopping by.

However, try as he might, Moz-Ga is going to have his hands full with these heroes.

And it's going to take more than a little temper tantrum to best these buddies!

Robert Venditti and Bryan Hitch have taken this adventurous series to a whole new level of awesome this week - unleashing one of the most fascinating stops on Carter Hall's journey to discover just who he is, and what he must do to save the world from the ultimate evil. Mr. Venditti's story expertly touches on cues from a classic era of DC Comics, while Mr. Hitch's art raises the bar and takes us back to a new world we've only just begun to explore!

In short, Hawkman #5 is another win, and easily the best book of the week!

Carter Hall has finally gotten his due, as Hawkman continues to fly to new heights with each passing month to become one of the strongest titles in the DC arsenal this year!

Rating: 5/5 - "An adventurous tale that flies to new heights with every turn of the page."

Hawkman #5 lands on newsstands today.

Until next time, Infinite Earths fans!
