Review: DC Comics - Batman #62

Here, Piggy, Piggy, Piggy!

Batman #62 is here, bringing with it a unique story that sees The Batman the prisoner of Professor Pyg. Bound and hanging from the rafters of an undisclosed slaughter house, Batman is forced to fight off disorientation in an effort to survive his latest run-in with the vile villain.

As his foe torments him, Batman must use his skills and wits to stay alert. And, even when he is successful in escaping Pyg's trap, Bruce must still stay one step ahead. However, along the way, he'll face an internal struggle in a desperate search for answers.

Why? Where? How? Will The Batman be able to clear his head long enough to escape the cleaving clutches of the demented Professor Pyg? Or, is his number finally up?

The latest issue of Batman may not have offered up the most exciting or engaging plot, but it certainly was an interesting read. However, it was the art of Mitch Gerads that really put this issue over the top! Featuring bright colors and detailed environments, Gerads clearly brought his A-Game to this issue, presenting readers with a crimson colored pallet sure to engage all senses.

Yes, while King presents a plot that is fun to read, it is Mitch Gerads who emerges into the spotlight here thanks to some seriously stellar art akin to his work on the excellent Mr. Miracle!

Here's hoping this dynamic duo stays on this title for the foreseeable future!

Rating: 4/5 - "A bloody brilliant read bolstered by the incredible art of Mitch Gerads!"

Batman #62 is on newsstands today.
