Batman Breaks Free From Fear!
The rousing miniseries concludes today in the pages of Batman: Kings Of Fear, which finally sees Bruce getting a grip on reality and breaking free from Scarecrow's control!
Of course, this means bad news for Jonathan Crane, who's about to get the beat down of his life. But, in the process of his recovery, Batman will come to realize that he's still important to Gotham and the people who call it home - this thanks in part to a new orderly at Arkham Asylum and the always reassuring Alfred Pennyworth. Both taking time to prove just how much The Batman has helped them and the denizens of the city.
Of course, one can't help but wonder if it's possible to tango with the Scarecrow and walk away without some form of mental scaring. Will this run-in with Jonathan Crane effect Batman in the future? Only time will tell. For now, The Batman has a city to protect!
The concluding issue of Batman: Kings Of Fear is an extremely satisfying conclusion to one of the most unique miniseries it has been our privilege to enjoy!
From the retro feel of the art, to the thrilling deconstruction of Bruce Wayne's psyche, this is one Batman book that should be in every DC fans library! Yes, we're saddened to see this story end, and we sincerely hope Peterson and Jones will be back within Gotham City soon enough!
Rating: 5/5 - "A fascinating deconstruction of The Dark Knight's damaged psyche!"
