Review: DC Comics - The Flash #66

Get Ready For A Revamped Origin!

The Flash #66 speeds onto newsstands today, and Joshua Williamson is bringing with it an excellent revamped origin story for one of The Scarlet Speedster's long time foes.

Original Trickster James Jesse is now the new crime lord of Central City, and he's got some seriously diabolical plans for the city. However, this latest issue takes a small step back to re-examine Jesse's humble beginnings as the son of abusive con artists from the Central City Circus.

Witness James' efforts to break free from his old life, while learning to become the world's ultimate prankster. Watch as he begins his criminal career, is captured by Barry Allen, takes up a career as a criminal consultant for the FBI and eventually takes up the mantle of the Trickster once more - just as a newer, and younger version emerges on the scene!

It's a fantastic origin tale for the 21st Century. One that Flash fans won't want to miss!

This terrific origin story reinvents James Jesse for the modern age!

Presented as a villain by circumstance due to a pretty poor upbringing, fans are certain to feel some seriously sympathy for The Trickster in this newest issue. It's fun, thought-provoking, and continues to solidify Joshua Williamson as one of the best Flash scribes of our modern age.

Don't pass this one up, it's a truly great addition to the DC mythos!

Rating: 4/5 - "A fun and thought-provoking origin!"
