Review: DC Comics - Hawkman #13

Live. Die. Repeat.

Hawkman soars back to stores today, with an exciting new issue that sees Robert Venditti and Will Conrad teaming up to take readers deep within the journal of Carter Hall.

Watch as the future Hawkman finds himself locked in an interplanetary war, one which finds him reincarnating to the opposite side every time he dies in battle. And, this is not something that happens over the course of days, weeks or even months. No, Carter Hall must battle opposing sides time and again for hundreds upon hundreds of years!

How will these new lives affect Carter Hall and his sanity moving forward? And, what will happen once he meets a familiar face from his past fighting for the enemy camp?

Well, we won't tell you that.

What we will say is that Carter will eventually come to realize that there is a much better way to end this conflict than simply blasting his foes to space dust. No, fighting will not be the answer, as Carter will be forced to take a new path to end one of the galaxy's most intense wars once and for all! Here's hoping he'll just be able to survive long enough to pull it off!

The latest issue of Hawkman begins a new journey under the leadership of a new creative duo as the always talented Robert Venditti gives fans an intense, exciting tale that opens up the doors on another of Carter Hall's past lives! His words are expertly complemented by Batman Beyond artist Will Conrad, who brings vivid, striking imagery to the fore to give fans a completely immersive experience into one of the galaxy's grandest conflicts from the point of view of one of it's most complex heroes.

The end result is another solid page-turner that continues to prove why Hawkman is one of the best books in the DC Comics library to date! An action-packed thrill-a-minute tale that refuses to let up, Hawkman continues to spread its wings with ease, showing the world just how high this golden age goliath can fly!

Rating: 5/5 - "A stupendously stellar science fiction thriller, there is no telling just how high Hawkman can fly!"
