Hold on, Hold on, didn't Michael Biehn play that character in the film? you're no doubt asking. Why, yes he did. However, originally, it was Remar (The Hateful Eight, Beware the Batman) who was cast in the role. But, he wound up getting himself fired.
Remar had always said that he actually had to quit the film due to issues at home, yet, a few years back, the truth came out. In an interview with Sidebar, the actor admitted: “I had a terrible drug problem, but I got through it. I had a great career and personal life, and messed it up with a terrible drug habit. I was initially cast as Corporal Hicks, and I was fired after a couple weeks of filming because I got busted for possession of drugs, and Michael Biehn replaced me.”
Though no footage exists of Remar in the role, The Playlist have unearthed some pictures of Remar on the set of the film - in full costume! Check 'em out!
This is really cool, a kind of glimpse into the past, and what might have been. Still, if you ask us, Michael Biehn was the right choice for the role of Hicks, we just couldn't see anyone else in the iconic sci-fi role.
