Ewan McGregor, who played a young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, says he's up for another trip back to that galaxy far, far away.
While speaking at the Edinburgh Film Festival, the actor revealed: “I’d be happy to do the story from episodes three where I finish up and Alec Guinness starts,” McGregor said, referring to the era between the two trilogies, when Obi-Wan is camped out in the deserts of Tatooine.
This is the same movie McGregor has been pitching since 2013 when speaking with MTV.
If Lucasfilm is planning an Obi-Wan spin-off, chances are good we won't be seeing the movie for at least another five or six years, given the new Star Wars trilogy kicking off in December and planned spin-off films like Gareth Edwards' Star Wars: Rogue One and others rumored to feature Boba Fett and Han Solo.
In addition, McGregor shared his thoughts on Kylo Ren's lightsaber seen in the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens: “I’m not sure about the hilt on the lightsaber. If you fight with a lightsaber properly you don’t need one.”
