Henry Cavill Talks Justice League

Production on Zack Snyder's Justice League - Part One kicks off this April. Before that, fans will get to see the Man Of Steel take on the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman, which will lay the groundwork for future films in the DC Expanded Universe.

During the Academy Awards, Henry Cavill was approached by MTV News and asked if he'd read the script for Justice League. However, the Last Son of Krypton wouldn't divulge too much information.

"I have. I can tell you nothing. We're talking about Justice League here, so the DC Cinematic Universe is finally getting its chance to really grow in this one. I think all of the characters are fantastic, and I'm looking forward to being a part of that whole gig."

When a casting call for the film surfaced last week, it listed Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller as one of the producers on Justice League. Back in 2007, Miller almost helmed his own JL flick, but even though everything was pretty much in place an ready to go, the Writers Guild strike of 2007 collapsed the project.

When asked about George Miller's involvement, Henry Cavill said that hadn't heard if he had come aboard as a producer or not.

In any case, Cavill seems to have nothing but faith in the DC Expanded Universe, ad that' exactly what we like to hear.

Daisy Ridley Talks Filming Episode VIII

Two weeks ago, word broke that production had begun on Star Wars: Episode VIII.

The announcement was made via the official Star Wars website, which released a short video showcasing footage of director Rian Johnson filming a scene featuring Rey and Luke Skywalker located on Skellig Michael. This seemed to confirm that Johnson's film will pick up right where The Force Awakens ended.

Last night, at the Academy Awards, actress Daisy Ridley was asked by MTV News how things on Star Wars: Episode VIII were coming along.

"Me and Mark [Hamill] have been rehearsing a lot, and it's really amazing. When we went back to Skellig [Michael Island] to do the opening of VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people. He's amazing to rehearse with, and I'm very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff... It's such a good story. Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really."

Star Wars: Episode VIII will soon be moving production to Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The movie arrives in theatres on December 15th 2017.

Liev Schreiber Confirms Wolverine 3 Talks

During last night's Academy Awards, actor Liev Schreiber was asked if there was any truth to the recent rumors that he may be back as Sabretooth for Wolverine 3.

"We talked about it," he told MTV News"I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word."

Schreiber only portrayed Logan’s rival in the disastrous 2009 prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Following the events of Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, it’s like that movie never happened.

And thank God for that!

Ryan Reynolds also starred in X-Men Origins as Deadpool and he was given a second shot at the role thanks to the timeline reset. So, why can't Fox do the same thing for Liev Schreiber? After all, he was one of the few good things about that 2009 film.

Wolverine 3 will be directed by James Mangold. It will also be Hugh Jackman's last time playing the famous Marvel mutant, a role he's had since X-Men way back in 2000.

Would you like to see Jackman and Liev Schreiber square off once again?

We know we sure would.

Molten Metal Dog Alien Teased By NECA

First came the Series 3 Dog Alien, than the 8-bit Video Game Appearance Dog Alien sporting a two-tone paint job. Now, a new take on this classic Xenomorph has been teased over on the official NECA Twitter account.

Behold the Molten Metal Dog Alien. It's everything you love about the previous releases, but with an awesome metallic paint job, making the beast look at though he's arose from a smelting pit on Fiorina-161.

Currently, the figure has no set release date, but is under consideration as a possible Series 8 chase figure. For those who don't know, the eighth wave of Aliens figures from NECA will focus on characters seen in David Fincher's Alien 3.

Honestly, this has to be the coolest version of the Dog Alien to date! That molten metal look is fantastic and is sure to add something sleek and special to any collection! Here's hoping this one makes it into production.

What do you think?

Top 10 Toy Fair Reveals - 2016

Toy Fair 2016 was, once again, a highlight of the year. Companies small and great gathered in New York to show off new products for the coming season from some of the biggest brands in the industry, while fans followed coverage from news and media outlets with eager expectation.

With the event now behind us, it is once again time to compile our list of the Top 10 Toy Fair Reveals for 2016. As with previous years there was plenty to choose from, thus making this task one of near herculean proportions. However, we feel this list best represents some of the coolest plastic to ever hit the Big Apple.

Let's take a look at some of the highlights this year, and be sure to let us know what you think. Granted, everyone's taste does differ, so if you feel we missed something important, be sure to let us know.

#10 - Mega Bloks Star Trek Classic Bridge (Mattel) - Mattel killed it this year with their Mega Bloks display, but given that 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, we had to go with the Classic Bridge set to begin our countdown! The set includes minifigures of Kirk, Spock, Sulu and Uhura and one can't help but call to mind the classic Enterprise Playset from Mego while looking at it. When that set was originally released, it quickly became one of the most popular playsets to ever be released. And we're guessing this one will be a favorite among Star Trek fans in the coming year. There were other Star Trek Mega Bloks sets on display at Toy Fair, but this one really grabbed our attention - and hasn't let go ever since. Now, the only question is, will the doors to the bridge make that classic woosh  sound when they open?

Why We Love It: It's a recreation of the bridge on the USS Enterprise made entirely out of building blocks, how could you not love it? Plus, it'll make an awesome addition to any collection given that this year is the 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek series.

#9 - Marvel Legends Cable (Hasbro) - Let's be honest here, can you really ever have too many Marvel Legends action figures? We certainly don't think so, and apparently, neither does Hasbro. One of the highlights of their display came in the form of a new 6" Cable action figure, complete with enough weaponry to reduce anything in his path to a molten mound of slag. Cable will be part of a new X-Men assortment set to arrive later this year, and is sure to be a favorite among collectors given the news that the mutant will feature in the upcoming Deadpool sequel from 20th Century Fox. Honestly, the entire X-Men assortment making up this wave was pretty impressive, but Cable just stood above the rest.

Why We Love It: Do you want to tell an action figure that looks like that he didn't make our cut? Fans of the X-Men are sure to eat up this entire wave, with Cable certain to be a fan-favorite aided by the recent news surrounding the Deadpool sequel.

#8 - Aliens: Colonial Marines Power Loader (Hiya Toys) - This officially licensed Power Loader from Hiya Toys is crafted in 1:18 scale and easily fits any of the 3.75" Colonial Marines action figures. Being fans of the classic Kenner Aliens line, we're really excited to see what Hiya Toys has in mind for their smaller scale Aliens action figures, which will be available in North America later this year through Diamond Distributors. The Power Loader is a nice place to start in the vehicle department, and here's hoping it won't be long before they also give us a 1:18 scale version of the APC and an in-scale Alien Queen to do battle with! Aliens: Colonial Marines may not have been a favorite among fans, but these action figures are sure to be, with the Power Loader right at the top of the list.

Why We Love It: We grew up with the smaller scale Kenner Aliens line, so these figures really pull at the nostalgia strings. Here's hoping an in-scale Alien Queen and an APC aren't too far behind.

#7 - Jurassic World Alpha Cycle (Hasbro): Hasbro pretty much dropped the ball with their Jurassic World assortment last year. While there were a few gems, the majority of the line was a huge disappointment for fans and collectors alike. However, it looks as though they may be fixing a few things with their upcoming Jurassic World: Dino Hybrids line, which will actually feature the first properly scaled human figure from the film! The Alpha Cycle set will come complete with a 3.75" Owen Grady figure, a motorcycle and a new version of Raptor Squad member Blue! As can be seen from the snapshot below (thanks to Action Figure Insider), this set looks to feature some nice details and is sure to make fans happy after some genius decided it was a good idea to release 2" generic human figures into the original Jurassic World line. Let's hope that guy stays as far away from future Hasbro Jurassic Park releases for the rest of his days!

Why We Love It: This set would've sold like crazy last summer when Jurassic World was in theaters. But, we guess it's better late than never! Here's hoping this is a glimpse of things to come and that we never ever see those 2" scale pieces of crap again!

#6 - DC Icons Deluxe Batgirl (DC Collectibles): The DC Icons line continues to be a favorite among collectors, even though they feature their own unique scale. Meant to replace the current New 52 line, these new figures come in the 6" scale, are fully articulated and come loaded with accessories. There were plenty of these figures on display at the DC Collectibles booth in New York, but one that truly stood out from the rest was the Deluxe Batgirl figure. Based off Babs Tarr's version seen Batgirl Of Burnside, the figure will stand 5.75" tall and come complete with a grapnel gun, interchangeable heads, hands, capes and a motorcycle. DC Collectibles is killing it with the Icons line, but their Deluxe figures really are the top of the stack. And yes, that motorcycle does roll and can be removed from the display base according to Jim Fletcher of DC Collectibles.

Why We Love It: Icons is such an awesome line, and this Deluxe Batgirl is one of the coolest additions to the line to date! It's just a shame she won't be out until closer to year's end...

#5 - Star Wars: The Black Series Sabine Wren (Hasbro): The Fan's Choice winner for 2015, Sabine is finally getting the 6" Black Series treatment. Star Wars Rebels fans have always seemed a little slighted when it came to the merchandising department, but this amazing looking figure is definitely a step in the right direction. The figure comes complete with a pair of blaster pistols, functioning holsters and a removable helmet - something the 3.75" figure never had. The articulation is also superb, which is something else that can't be said for the 3.75" figure. Kanan is also getting a 6" Black Series figure in a few months, so we're really hoping that Hasbro and Gentle Giant continue giving the Ghost crew the superb action figures they deserve.

Why We Love It: This is the Sabine figure fans have been waiting for. Plus, is there really anything cooler than Mandalorians? We don't think so.

#4 - S.H. Figuarts Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Bandai): 2016 looks to be the year of the Ninja Turtle. We're getting a new movie, a new game, and a tonne of merchandise from Playmates, Mattel and Bandai. However, none is as cool as these Figuarts figures based off the classic 80's cartoon. All 4 turtles will be seeing a release and each will be constructed of high-quality PVC and diecast metal. Each is fully articulated and comes with plenty of interchangeable parts, weapons and even pizza slices. For fans of the classic animated series, these are sure to be a must own. They won't drop until later in the year though, but given that they're $63 a piece, that's not such a bad thing. Here's hoping that Bandai has plans for other characters from the show, including Shredder, Rocksteady, Bebop, Krang and some Foot Soldier variants.

Why We Love It: The ultimate Turtle action figures, these totally make up for the fact that Playmates has put their TMNT classic line on hold until further notice.

#3 - Transformers: Titans Return Fortress Maximus (Hasbro): Nothing is cooler then a large Transformer, and Hasbro had a pretty neat one on display at Toy Fair a few weeks back! Behold the massive Fortress Maximus! This Titan Class figure is set for release later this year, will feature lights, sounds and three modes of transformation. Oh, and if that's not enough, he'll measure around 2-ft. tall, making him the largest Transformer action figure to date!

Why We Love It: Like we said, there really is nothing cooler then a large Transformers figure - and this one takes the cake! However, at 2-ft. tall, you'd better make sure you have sufficient shelf space.

#2 - Batman v Superman Batmobile (Mezco Toyz): The One:12 Collective line from Mezco is all kinds of awesome, but we're guessing it's going to take some time for them to top the amazing looking Batmobile they revealed at Toy Fair. As can be seen by the image (thanks to blastr), this thing is HUGE! Based off Batman's new ride in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, this literally looks as though the artisans at Mezco took a shrinkray to the car used in the movie! Lights, a detailed cockpit, and a nice weathered look serve to remind collectors just why Mezco's One:12 line really has become a game changer in the industry today!

Why We Love It: Uh, have you seen the size of this thing? You're going to need a mid-size parking space just to accommodate it into your collection! Plus, what an awesome piece to add to your collection this year - the 30th anniversary of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.

#1 - Batman: The Animated Series Batwing (DC Collectibles): Last year, the winner of our Top Toy Fair Reveals list was the Batmobile from Batman: The Animated Series. This year, that honor goes to yet another vehicle from the Emmy winning show - The Batwing. And for good reason! Not only is it massive, it also features an opening canopy, working lights, landing gear and, according to Jim Fletcher of DC Collectibles, there are even plans in place to include a wall mount or display stand! The Batwing can fit two 6" figures and is even larger than last year's Batmobile. Thus, this one takes the #1 spot on our list. However, we can't help but wonder, will a more chromed-up version be released six months down the road with included action figures? Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Why We Love It: It's loaded with features and is even BIGGER then last year's Batmobile.

And so, with that, our countdown of the Top 10 Toy Fair Reveals for 2016 has come to a close. As we mentioned above, this was another amazing year for the show and it is sure to be another awesome year for fans and collectors looking to add some cool plastic to their shelves over the next 365 days.

Once again, we'd like to encourage our fans and readers to comment below and let us know what you thought of this year's list. Did we miss something important? Please, be sure to let us know what it was and why you felt it belonged on this list.

But wait, there's more! Every year we take one specific company and set them apart from all the rest. A company who has blown the roof off every Toy Fair since Day #1. A company that really puts all other competitors to shame...

But that list will be a little later on. Plus, we really don't want to take anything away from the impressive pieces making up this list either.

Be sure to stay tuned as we prepare to unleash our Special NECA Edition of our Top 10 Toy Fair Reveals list for 2016!

Mad Max Proves Mighty At The Oscars

Fans are all too aware that big-budget movies like George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road are usually snubbed by the Academy Awards. However, last night the high-octane sequel sped off with a total of six Oscars, proving that even the big time summer blockbusters deserve your consideration.

Mad Max: Fury Road thundered into the record books Sunday night, as its six Oscar wins gave the film the honor of winning the most Academy Awards ever for an Australian film.

The fourth entry in the popular franchise walked away with awards for Best Editing, Costume Design, Production Design, Make-Up & Hair, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.

"In an outstanding year for Australian film at the box office, it was fantastic to see such an original film, Mad Max: Fury Road, achieve the trifecta of audience, critical and box-office success at home and abroad thanks to the genius, skill and and leadership of George Miller," AACTA CEO Damian Trewhella said. "Australia punches above its weight internationally for screencraft excellence, and today's six Oscars, marking the most for any Australian film ever, attest to the technical skill of our talented industry. On behalf of the Australian Academy, I heartily congratulate George Miller and all who were involved in this outstanding Australian film."

Matthew Deaner,  CEO of producers guild Screen Producers Australia, called the success of Mad Max a "great accolade to the Australian screen industry."

And we couldn't agree more.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Mad Max: Fury Road for your success!

Don't Expect A Deadpool/X-Men Crossover

Deadpool is quickly becoming one of the most successful R rated movies to date. The film has been out since Valentine's Day and has already grossed over $600-Million worldwide.

With numbers like this, it's unsurprising that a sequel has been fast-tracked and talk of an X-Force film seems to strengthen with each passing day. Fox is apparently planning on adding the likes of Cable and Domino to the sequel, so does this mean that we may see Wade Wilson teaming up with characters previously portrayed in the X-Men films?

Not if you ask the writers.

Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick recently spoke to The Playlist, where they repealed that a crossover between Deadpool and X-Men is highly unlikely.

"If you look at the 'Iron Man' model they had two 'Iron Man' [movies] before they had an 'Avengers,' and if left up to us, I think that would be a very prudent path," said Reese.  "The second issue at hand is the 'X-Men' universe timeline. 'The X-Men' series is currently set in the 1980s, 'Deadpool,' is set three decades later in our present day. "

Wernick adds: "It's a timeline that will eventually catch up I would imagine. But ['X-Men' producer] Simon [Kingberg's] more the keeper of that universe and maybe we'll see more X-Men playing in Deadpool's sandbox and probably Deadpool playing in their sandbox at some point."

“Deadpool's now become a brand and franchise unto himself, independent of the 'X-Men' and that's great. And that gives the studio two franchises in one, but I think it is its own franchise, and you'll see synergy between those two properties, but they're two very distinct brands."

Whatever the future may hold for The Merc With The Mouth, you can expect Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to be involved. "We will have a hand in it. I think everything that 'Deadpool' is involved in we will have a hand in and it's a universe that Ryan [Reynolds] and us are very close to and very protective of, so I do think we would absolutely involved in that franchise as well. If it's Deadpool related, I think you'll see some of our fingerprints on that."

So at least there's that.

Deadpool is in theaters now.
