In the Season 2 finale of Daredevil viewers watched as Frank Castle returned home and proceeded to burn it to the ground - but not before retrieving a mysterious disc with the word Micro written on it. This was a tease for David Linus “Microchip” Lieberman, a character who has yet to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but has been mentioned in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the past.
It is common knowledge now that The Punisher is getting his own Netflix series in the near future, and it sounds as though Microchip is set to be part of the new show. According to MCU Exchange, Marvel is looking for an actor to portray the long-time Punisher ally.
But, that's all we know at this point in time.
Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, recently spoke at the TCA summer press tour. There, he revealed that fans shouldn't expect to see The Punisher series until 2018. This makes sense given the large slate of Marvel shows currently in the pipeline, including Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders. Regardless, when the show finally begins streaming, fans can expect David Linus “Microchip” Lieberman to be part of it.
