Natalie Portman Could Return To The MCU

It's no secret that the character of Jane Foster didn't make the biggest impact within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Underwritten and bland, the character was certainly not a favorite among Marvel movie fans. Thus, it really didn't come as the biggest surprise when it was revealed that actress Natalie Portman won't be reprising the role in next year's Thor: Ragnarok.

With the way she was received by fans, does this mean we'll never see Jane Foster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again? Not necessarily.

In a new interview with Deadline, Portman was asked if she'd ever consider a return to the MCU, to which the actress responded: “Yeah, well, hopefully one day I figure it out.”

That's by no means a definitive yes, but it's not a no either. Despite suggesting that she's become somewhat jaded with acting in big effects-driven blockbusters, it certainly sounds as though there may be a chance we'll cross paths with Jane Foster at some point in the future.

Is that something you'd like to see happen?

Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.

Wonder Woman To Explore The Horrors Of War

Next year, Patty Jenkins will release the first solo superheroine film in over a decade with Wonder Woman. Speaking with Empire Online, the director spoke about why the World War I setting is so important to Diana's big screen origin story.

"What motivates her is philosophical," explains director Patty Jenkins on the truly wondrous Diana Prince (Gal Gadot), seen here on the World War I battlefield. "She isn't just taking out bad guys or fighting crime. She believes in goodness and love. [She] is fierce and willing to fight, but only to protect a better vision for mankind. Hers is really a coming-of-age story."

“My approach was to focus on telling the story of mechanized war and how that would look to a god visiting our world for the first time. I wanted the audience to understand the horrors that a war on this scale makes possible and how shocking that would be to someone who comes with a strong sense of honour and justice. She doesn’t realize yet just how senselessly dark the world can be.”

Starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner and Lucy Davis, Wonder Woman opens in cinemas on June 2nd 2017.

Ridley Scott Isn't Interested In Superhero Movies

Ridley Scott is no stranger to Sci-Fi, but don't expect him to be raking the helm on any DC or Marvel movies anytime soon. In a recent interview, the Alien director revealed that superhero movies really aren't his thing, and he'd much rather spend his time making smart films for the fans.

"Superhero movies are not my kind of thing – that’s why I’ve never really done one. [I’ve been asked] several times, but I can’t believe in the thin, gossamer tight-rope of the non-reality of the situation of the superhero. I’ve done that kind of movie – Blade Runner really is a comic strip when you think about it, it’s a dark story told in an unreal world. You could almost put Batman or Superman in that world, that atmosphere, except I’d have a f**king good story, as opposed to no story!”

He would also mention how concerned he is for the future of film.

“I want to keep doing cinema and I hope it doesn’t affect those of us who still keep making smart films. I’m hoping it doesn’t affect me.”

Scott's next film, Alien: Covenant, arrives on May 19th, 2017.

Miles Morales Confirmed For Animated Spider-Man Movie

It has been a few months since we've heard anything new regarding Sony's animated Spider-Man movie. Now, Backstage has released a casting call for a project titled Cabin Fever, which is actually the code name for the upcoming animated feature. This casting call confirms a past report that Miles Morales will be the lead character in the film.

The role, for a character named Terrence, is described as follows...

A young African-American/Puerto Rican teen from Brooklyn; he is new to this suburban school and now feeling out of place, overwhelmed, pressured with new responsibilities, and dealing with puberty; while trying to fit in he must do his best to stay out of trouble; along the way in developing his identity he’s losing old friends but now making a new one, Pete.

This description is remarkably to similar to the Marvel Comics character of Miles Morales.

Oh, and the character description for Pete definitely indicates this friend isn't Peter Parker.

A young, slighgtly geeky, Asian-American teen; he’s smart, sweet, and encouraging; although very unlike any of the friends Terrence had in his old Brooklyn neighborhood, Pete proves to be a good fit for Terrence making good decisions.

The upcoming Spider-Man animated movie, written and produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, swings into theatres on December 21, 2018.

May 2017 bring you all unparalleled success as some of YouTube's best and brightest!

Secondly, thank you to those who've helped us throughout the year with the daily running and operations of Infinite Earths! Thank you to Corey Buckner of and the teams at Automaton Toys, B&K Collectables, Dorkside Toys and The Toy Trove! Thank you to Randy Falk and Summer Mullins of NECA, Mike of Mezco Toyz, Angelo and the team at Hiya Toys, Nick at Big Bad Toy Store, and the team at Jakks Pacific! And, of course, thank you to Gary Miereanu, Alyssa Some, and Tyler Robinson of Warner Bros. Studios and the team at Wurd Industries!

And finally, we'd like to welcome those who will be working with us for the first time come 2017 - Boss Fight Studios and Creative Beast Studios.

We look forward to working with you all come the new year!

And so, as the year draws to a close, we thank each of you once again for all your kindness and support over the last year! We're looking forward to 2017, and taking each of you along for an exciting and fun-filled ride!
