DC Comics fans will have to wait a little longer for the Justice League Dark movie.
Variety has exclusively learned that director Doug Liman has exited the high profile project over at Warner Bros. Studios due to scheduling. Liman is also attached to direct Chaos Walking over at Lionsgate. Warner Bros. ha already begun meeting with new director's for Justice League Dark and should have a replacement lined up very soon.
Based around the 2011 DC Comics title of the same name, Justice League Dark centers around a magical group of heroes who fight enemies too powerful for the regular Justice League to handle on their own. Making up the team are the likes of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan. The movie will serve as part of the ever expanding DC Cinematic Universe.
Scott Rudin is producing. Michael Gilio is writing the script.
Keep in mind that things like this happen in Hollywood all the time. While Liman would've been a great helmer for the project, we're certain that Warner Bros. will find a suitable successor for him.
