Actor Karl Urban could be back in the role of Judge Joseph Dredd for the recently announced TV series Judge Dredd: Mega-City One. Which is sure to get fans excited!
While speaking with The 2000 AD Thrill-Cast, the publisher's official podcast, series producer Brian Jenkins discussed the upcoming show and revealed that Urban's involvement was a possibility depending on schedules.
"We have had many conversations prior to this, about all sorts of things. He’s also very busy, a full-time professional actor. So we’re going to have some long and complicated conversations I would imagine, and we’ll see where we go. It’s too early to tell yet, but if we can use him and he’s available to us, then I think that would be absolutely brilliant. There’s always a possibility he will be busy, or that his schedule for other movies won’t allow- Basically, we don’t know at this stage."
As we said, even though nothing is official at the moment, the very thought of Karl Urban suiting up as Judge Dredd once again is something that is sure to get fans excited. After all, despite the fact that the 2012 film was a box office flop, there is no denying it has gained a huge following over the years since its release, and fans have been hoping and praying for some kind of sequel for some time now.
Jenkins is quite right when he says that Urban is a very busy actor. Not only is he set to appear as Skurge in Thor: Ragnarok later this year, but he also has contractual obligations toward the Star Trek series over at Paramount Pictures.
Still, we're betting he'll try and find a way to appear in the new series, if possible.
