Universal Cancels UK Premiere Of The Mummy

Following in the footsteps of Warner Bros., Universal Pictures has announced that they will be cancelling the UK premiere of The Mummy in the wake of Monday's Manchester terrorist attacks. The event was set for June 1st.

According to the studio, "All of us at Universal have been devastated by the terror attack in Manchester and continue to stand with the community and country as it recovers. Out of respect to those affected by this tragedy we have decided not to move forward with the London premiere for The Mummy scheduled to take place next week."

Yesterday evening, Warner Bros. announced that they would be cancelling the UK premiere of Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman following Monday's attack, which occurred during an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester arena.

The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman and stars Tom Cruise,  Sophie Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B Vance and Russell Crowe.

The film hits theaters on June 9th.
