The buzz surrounding Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman is extremely positive, with many claiming it's the best DC Film to date. Given the response from fans and critics, news of a sequel may not be that far off. Granted, fans will see Diana again this November in Zack Snyder's Justice League, but can you really deny the Amazonian Princess her own film franchise? We hardly think so!
Director Patty Jenkins is thrilled with the response to the film and, while speaking with our friends over at Fandango, she assured them she is ready to continue Diana's story with a sequel.
"It's definitely something I'm very, very, very interested," she said. "I love what we've created and I love the team that I worked with doing it and these actors so much that, yeah, we're all very excited to talk about continuing forward together."
What would such a film look like? Well, Jenkins revealed that she'd really love to bring the character to America, where she could expand her heroic reach.
"I think it's very important that she goes on to be a very international superhero," Jenkins said. "I can't wait to bring her to America as well."
Could this new film perhaps explore the events between Diana's solo movie and her appearance in last year's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice? Perhaps even revealing other historic conflicts she assisted in? It sounds like that might be the very direction they're heading in.
"It's something that one will know soon," she said. "Like, what she has been doing all of these years, but it's definitely something I have thought a lot about."
Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2nd.
