Dark Phoenix, the upcoming X-Men film based off of the much-loved Marvel Comics Jean Grey storyline, is set to get a little more dazzling when it hits theatres!
Entertainment Weekly has learned that the mutant pop star known as Dazzler, known for her ability to sing, dance and manipulate light, is set to make an appearance in the upcoming movie.
Fans will recall that X-Men: Apocalypse contained a deleted scene that saw Jean Grey and Scott Summers coming across one of Dazzler's albums at a record store. Actress Sophie Turner posted a shot from the scene on her Instagram account last year, making a pre-1989 reference that had many folks thinking that the image of Dazzler seen on the album cover was Taylor Swift.
Entertainment Weekly has learned that Dazzler will only be showing up in small role during the film and that there are currently no plans in place to have her portrayed by Taylor Swift.
Dark Phoenix is directed by Simon Kinberg and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Alexander Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Actress Jessica Chastain is also in talks to play the films villain.
Set to begin filming this summer, the film arrives in theatres on November 2nd, 2018.
