The Mummy kicked off its theatrical run last night with $2.7-Million from 3,015 theaters.
The film stars Tom Cruise and is the first in a planned Dark Universe franchise centering on such Universal classic movie monsters as Frankenstein, Dracula and Creature From The Black Lagoon.
The movie opens in 4,000 theaters across North America this weekend and is tracking to earn around $35-Million, putting some pressure on the film's international performance.
