Two more have joined the cast of New Mutants.
Actor Henry Zaga, known for his role in 13 Reasons Why, is set to portray Sunspot in the upcoming X-Men spinoff. In the world of Marvel Comics, the mutant is known by the name Roberto DaCosta. Hailing from Brazil, Sunspot has the ability to absorb solar radiation that can then be utilized for physical strength. He is also able to generate great bursts of solar energy from his body.
Director Josh Boone announced Zaga's casting over on his official Instagram account...
Zaga isn't the only new addition to the highly anticipated spinoff.
Boone also took to Instagram to announce that newcomer Blu Hunt has been cast in the role of Danielle Moonstar. The character is a Native American telepath who has the power to create illusions drawn from the fears and desires of a person's mind.
With the film leaning heavily on the classic Demon Bear storyline that ran in the pages of the Marvel Comics title in the 1980s, Hunt's character is set to play a crucial part in the movie.
The duo join a cast that already includes the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams and Charlie Heaton. Rosario Dawson is also in talks to join the spinoff.
New Mutants begins filming in Boston this July.
