One of the best villains to come out of the DC TV Universe was Michael Rowe's Deadshot. A skilled assassin and future member of the Suicide Squad, the character caused his fair share of problems for Team Arrow - until he was blown up during a top secret rescue mission.
Rowe has gone on to appear a few more times since his character's apparent demise. In Season 2 of The Flash, we met Floyd Lawton's Earth-2 CCPD counterpart and, early last season on Arrow, he appeared to Diggle as a hallucination.
Will DC fans ever cross paths with the real Floyd Lawton again?
Michael Rowe certainly seems to think it's a possibility. Speaking with our friends over at ComicBook.com on the set of his new webseries Ninjak vs. the Valiant Universe, the actor weighed in as to what he feels really happened to Floyd Lawton
"I don’t think that he died in the explosion; maybe that’s just me giving the character a lot of credit. I know that he’s notoriously hard to kill, and I have my own theories as to what happened in that situation. You didn’t see a body; they just had to remove him quickly from the show because of business and there would be a lot of fun ways to bring him back…"
He adds, "Me coming back to Arrow or any of those shows is always a possibility. You’re talking about a universe where they deal with time travel, there’s all kinds of flashbacks, there’s ways to bring people back to life, there’s ways to go to alternate earths like you’ve seen on The Flash. We had fancy plans for Deadshot but it wasn’t the producers or anybody involved with the show; it went way higher than that. There was just an executive decision to slow down Deadshot on TV so they could focus on Deadshot in the Suicide Squad film. I feel like we have unfinished business with it; it’s just, will they let us get back to that?"
Rowe certainly raises some good points here. There are plenty of ways Deadshot could return, especially thanks to certain time altering events seen on The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow. Additionally, several characters from the DC Universe have been appearing on both the big and small screen, including Amanda Waller, Flash and even Superman. So, bringing Deadshot back into the DC TV Universe really doesn't seem like that big an impossibility. If Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin can both co-exist as Superman, then why not Will Smith and Michael Rowe?
