NECA Shares New Look At The Assassin Predator

For their weekly Prednesday update, the fine folks over at NECA have taken to social media with for new images of their upcoming Assassin Predator figure!

Based on the main antagonist seen in The Predator this past Fall, the Assassin Predator will stand over 11″ tall, feature a wide range of articulation and include interchangeable hands, swappable heads, a wrist cannon, a removable gauntlet blade and more!

There is no official release date for the Assassin Predator figure at this time, but we'll be certain to update our readers as soon as these details become available!

The Mandalorian Adds Some Big Talent

The Mandalorian is expanding its cast.

Breaking Bad vet Giancarlo Esposito has joined the cast of the live-action Star Wars series alongside Rocky and Predator icon Carl Weathers, Supernatural actress Emily Swallow and Omid Abtahi of?American Gods. They join the previously announced ensemble of Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte and Werner Herzog respectively.

The series is in production now, and is slated to bow on the Disney+ streaming service in 2019. An official release date has yet to be announced at the time of this writing.

Jon Favreau wrote the series and is executive producing along with Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Dave Filoni. Filoni, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow are all locked in to direct episodes of the highly anticipated series.

The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. The series is said to be set about five years after events in Return Of The Jedi in a lawless region of the galaxy known as the Outer Rim - where people both don't know, and don't really care that the Galactic Empire has fallen.

Sharknado Vet Ian Ziering Joins Swamp Thing

Sharknado star Ian Ziering has landed a role in the upcoming Swamp Thing series.

Set to debut on the DC Universe digital streaming service in 2019, the show hails from James Wan and stars the likes of Crystal Reed, Andy Bean and Derek Mears.

Ziering will play stuntman turned movie star Daniel Cassidy, who became semi-famous after playing the Blue Devil. But now, eight years later, Cassidy finds himself living out his days in frustration, pining for his former fame while on a collision course with destiny.

Written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman, Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.

Wan, Verheiden, Dauberman, Michael Clear and Wiseman are executive producers alongside Len Wiseman who is set to direct.

Joel McHale Cast As Starman In Stargirl Series

Joel McHale is jumping into the DC Universe.

Known for roles in The X-Files and the cult hit Community, McHale will portray Sylvester Pemberton, the hero known as Starman, on the upcoming DC Universe series Stargirl.

A courageous and confident superhero, Starman is a member of the Justice Society of America. He wields a mysterious anti-gravity weapon called the cosmic staff and has a longtime sidekick named Stripesy, who is better known as Courtney Whitmore’s stepfather, Pat Dugan.

Announced back at San Diego Comic Con, the new show hails from Geoff Johns and stars Bella And The Bulldogs actress Brec Bassinger as the titular heroine. The show will follow high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore. Under the guise of Stargirl, she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The show re-imagines both Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable way.

Geoff Johns will write and executive produce the 13-episode series via his Mad Ghost Productions banner. The project hails from Warner Bros. Television and Greg Berlanti's studio-based Berlanti Productions, with Sarah Schechter also serving as an executive producer.

Johns and Lee Moder created the character, who was named after Geoff Johns' sister Courtney, who died in the 1996 explosion of TWA Flight 800. The character made her first appearance in July 1999's Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #1.

Arrowverse Shows Get Midseason Promos

With the conclusion of Elseworlds last night, the DC TV trinity of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl officially finished up their 2018 network runs. All three shows will be back in the New Year, and now The CW has released new promos announcing the midseason premiere dates!

Jurassic Park Joins National Film Registry

The National Film Registry is turning 30, and to celebrate they're bringing in a new crop of films to be inducted into the ranks before year's end.

Amongst the 25 new inductees are the 1993 Steven Spielberg blockbuster Jurassic Park, The Shining, Brokeback Mountain and Broadcast News respectively.

The library selects movies for preservation because of their cultural, historic and artist importance. The registry’s total number of films is now 750.

The new inductees were announced Wednesday morning in Los Angeles.

Jurassic Park, and it's for sequels, are big favorites here at Infinite Earths. So, we're more than a little extracted to see this 90's classic joining the National Film Registry - even though we're more than a little surprised to learn that the Steven Spielberg classic isn't already within its ranks!

Jurassic Park was released in June of 1993, and is credited with changing the face of modern cinema - especially in the field of special effects. Starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sir Richard Attenborough, Bob Peck, Wayne Knight and Samuel L. Jackson, the film currently ranks as one of the highest-grossing films of all time with $1.03-Billion worldwide.

Crisis On Infinite Earths Coming To The CW

There have been hints that the DC TV Universe would be taking a stab at Crisis On Infinite Earths ever since the first season of The Flash. That was five years ago, but last night, The CW surprised fans by revealing that the 2019 DC TV crossover event would be based on the classic story!
