It's no secret that there will be a few heroes killed off during next month's Avengers: Infinity War. Thus, the landscape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may end up being a very different place after the dust settles in the battle against the villainous Thanos. However, one character that we will be seeing when the credits role is Chris Evans' Captain America.
However, if a recent interview with the actor is anything to go by, it may not be for too much longer as Evans seems to indicate that he may be exiting the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the conclusion of Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers 4.
Speaking with the New York Times, Evans was asked about his future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the next Avengers flick to which he responded: "You want to get off the train before they push you off."
The article also adds that Evans: "expects that planned reshoots in the fall will mark the end of his tenure in the familiar red, white and blue super suit."
Now, this doesn't necessarily mean that Evans' character will be killed off. He could very well be playing a little game if misdirection with all of us. However, should he end up exiting the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even for a little while, it could mean that either Anthony Mackie or Sebastian Stan could end up stepping into the role during the next phase of the MCU.
