Advanced ticket sales for Avengers: Infinity War began yesterday and unsurprisingly, the Joe and Anthony Russo Marvel movie went on to break a record in a matter of hours.
Deadline reports that the film became the bestselling superhero movie on Fandango within a mere six hours of going live yesterday morning.
As a result, the film is currently outpacing the first 24-hour ticket sales of previous record holders Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Black Panther.
In a recent Fandango survey of 1,000 people who snapped up advanced tickets for Avengers: Infinity War, the online ticket retailer learned that 97% can't wait to see how all these superheroes will work together in the film, while 94% can't wait to see different franchise characters meeting each other on the big screen for the very first time. Additionally, the same survey revealed that 92% view this movie as the culmination of all the MCU movies that have come before it, while 87% have seen all the previous Marvel Cinematic Universe movies ranging from 2008's Iron Man all the way to this year's hugely popular Black Panther.
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olson, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Sean Gunn, Josh Brolin, and Paul Rudd, Avengers: Infinity War hits theatres on April 27th
