From James Earl Jones to Stan Lee, the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory is no stranger to pop culture cameos. And now, Sliders alum Jerry O'Connell will be joining that lengthy list.
O’Connell has joined the cast as Sheldon’s brother, Georgie. The character's younger counterpart is currently played by Montana Jordan in the popular Young Sheldon spinoff.
O'Connell is slated to appear later this season on the show.
Aside from appearing on Sliders, the actor is also known for lending his voice to numerous DC Comics characters including Shazam in Justice League Unlimited and the New 52 version of Superman in numerous DC Animated Original Movies.
The announcement was made during a series panel at PaleyFest, where fans also watched a clip from an upcoming episode set to feature Microsoft founder Bill Gates. The panellists - which included series stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Kunal Nayyar alongside producers Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland - also took the opportunity to reflect on the late Stephen Hawking, who made numerous appearances on the sitcom before his death last week.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8pm on CBS.
