Late last year, Lucasfilm announced that Rian Johnson would be developing a brand new Star Wars trilogy following the release of Star Wars: Episode IX. Now, the director's writing partner has informed Empire that work has already begun on the next Star Wars trilogy.
"We've started. Slowly, slowly, but we've started," Ram Bergman told the site. "Hopefully soon we're going to get busier."
Johnson also spoke to the site revealing that he's "excited to figure out what it's going to be."
Plot details are non-existent at this point, but we do know that the next trilogy will not be connected to prior installments, nor will it adapt previously released material like the Knights Of The Old Republic video games - which we've got to admit, we'd absolutely love to see.
Still, while Star Wars: The Last Jedi wasn't everyone's cup of coffee, we're more than a little wager to see what Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman have in store for the next Star Wars trilogy.
