X-Men actor James Marsden has joined the cast of the Sonic The Hedgehog movie, where he will be voicing the titular blue blur in his first ever big screen adventure.
Paramount's upcoming film based on the classic SEGA video game character will use a mix of live action and CGI. The film will be directed by first-timer Jeff Fowler.
Neal H. Moritz is producing the film, while Deadpool director Tim Miller executive producing, along with Toby Ascher. Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will serve as co-producers.
Aside from playing the famed Marvel Mutant Cyclops in numerous X-Men movies at 20th Century Fox, James Marsden also currently stars as Teddy Flood on the HBO sci-fi hit Westworld.
Sonic was first introduced by SEGA in 1991. The speedy character headlined his own series of games on the Genesis gaming console, and was meant as a rival to Nintendo's Super Mario. 360-Million Sonic The Hedgehog games have sold since then.
The movie opens on November 15th, 2019.
