Jamie Foxx has landed the lead role in the next Spawn movie.
Original comic book creator Todd McFarlane will write and direct the film.
He will also produce alongside Jason Blum.
Spawn debuted in comic form back in 1992, rocketing to super stardom almost overnight. In 1997, New Line released a film centred around the character starring Michael Jai White.
An Emmy Award winning animated series was also released by HBO.
In the comics, Spawn is a human-turned-Hellspawn who possesses superhuman strength and speed, and near immortality. Spawn also has the ability to teleport, shapeshift, and heal.
This will mark Foxx's second foray into comic book movies. He previously portrayed the villainous Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 alongside Andrew Garfield.
