Veteran actor Liam Neeson has entered talks to star alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in the upcoming Men In Black reboot from F. Gary Gray.
Steven Spielberg will executive produce, while Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are producing. David Beaubaire will oversee the film for Sony Pictures.
The new film will take place within the same world as the first three Men In Black movies, but will focus on a new set of characters in a similar way to how Colin Trevorrow approached his 2015 blockbuster, Jurassic World. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not feature.
For Neeson, the role will represent a change of pace from his most recent projects. Aside from appearing in the Taken trilogy, Neeson has also starred in the likes of Batman Begins, The Commuter, and Non-Stop - more serious films than the slightly more comedic Men In Black. However, Neeson is no stranger to the comedy genera. Over the last few years, he's also appeared in A Million Ways To Die In The West and even popped up on The Orville.
Sony Pictures fast-tracked the Men In Black reboot this past Fall, and hopes to get the film into theatres on May 17th, 2019.
