Watchmen TV Series Sets Its Cast

HBO's upcoming Watchmen series has cast a number of actors in key roles.

Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens, and Andrew Howard will all appear in the series, with King in the lead role.

This will reunite King with series producer Damon Lindelof, whom she worked with on The Leftovers - a drama series based on the novel of the same name that aired on HBO.

The exact details of their characters are being kept under wraps.

Previously, Lindelof said that the new show will not be a re-telling of Alan Moore's book. Instead, it will be a new story, following new characters, set within the present day.

"Some of the characters will be unknown," he said. "New faces. New masks to cover them. We also intend to revisit the past century of Costumed Adventuring through a surprising yet familiar set of eyes…and it is here we will be taking our greatest risks."

Watchmen should debut on HBO next year.

What do you think of these newest casting choices?
