Canadian comedic icon Jim Carrey has entered final negotiations to join Jeff Fowler's Sonic The Hedgehog movie over at Paramount Pictures.

Carrey will play Robotnik, the longtime foe of SEGA's Blue Blur.

Neal H. Moritz is producing the film with Deadpool director Tim Miller serving as an executive producer alongside Toby Ascher. James Marsden and Tika Sumpter will also star.

Marvel Comics Announces Spider-Geddon

Dan Slott is returning to the world of Wall-Crawlers.

The Amazing Spider-Man veteran is teaming up with writer Christos Gage and artist Jorge Molina for Spider-Geddon, a sequel to the 2014 fan-favorite Spider-Verse storyline.

While details on the series are thin at this time, Marvel promises to unveil additional details over the next few weeks - which most likely means a reveal during San Diego Comic Con. The book teams up different incarnations of Spider-Man from all sorts of parallel dimensions as they deal with the threat of Spider-Verse villain, Morlun.

"Spider-Verse took the multitudes of Spider-Characters and put them all on the same stage, and we've been playing with it ever since," said editor Nick Lowe in a statement. "Spider-Geddon straps dynamite to that stage and blows it to smithereens. The most dangerous Spider-Villain ever, Morlun, and his family of Inheritors, were trapped in the perfect prison at the end of Spider-Verse. But, like in any superhero story, there's always a way out, and you won't believe how these Spider-Eaters get out. But they’re out and they want revenge."

The storyline begins this October, with Gage serving as lead writer on the project.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Concept Art Unveiled

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom continues to reign supreme at the box office and now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have some new concept art from the film to check out.

Here we see Claire and Franklin attempting to escape the Baryonyx as lava rains down from above. A quick glance at the image proves that this is most certainly not Justice Smith with Bryce Dallas Howard, perhaps revealing that this piece was completed before the character was cast.

The next image features Claire and Franklin within the bunker before things got scary.

Next up, we have a variation of the scene involving the Tyrannosaurus playing hero and saving the humans from the Carnotaurus. Here, lava and destruction flow all around.

Here, we see the convoy of armoured cars making their way through the plans. This particular version of the scene showcases a little more destruction with dinosaur bones and destroyed Gyrospheres littering the grounds as the humans trek across the island.

The next piece of art features the ruins of Jurassic World.

Here, Owen happens upon Blue's nest - complete with the wrecked Ford Explorer.

Behold the inside of Lockwood’s mansion. Here, we can behold the beautiful collection of Benjamin Lockwood - including the stuffed taxidermy animals placed in dioramas.

And finally, a shot taken from the beginning of the film, which sees the Tyrannosaurus charging from the shadows after its fleeing prey.

No doubt this is just a small sampling of the concept art created for the film. With any luck, here's hoping the upcoming Blu-Ray release will give us a deeper look into the creation of the movie and its transition from script to screen.

What is your favorite piece of art featured above?

Three More Join HBO's Watchmen

Earlier this week, word broke that Jeremy Irons had joined the cast of HBO's Watchmen.

Now, three more familiar faces have joined the highly anticipated pilot.

Sleepy Hollow alum Tom Mison, Titanic actress Frances Fisher and Superfly thespian Jacob Ming-Trent are the latest additions to the cast of the show. However, as with all previous casting announcements, details surrounding their roles are being kept quiet at this time.

The trio join a cast that also includes the aforementioned Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard.

The series, from Lost creator Damon Lindelof, serves as a take on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ iconic limited comic series. Set in an alternate history where superheroes are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.

The series will not adapt the classic comic, but be an original story that remixes them.

Damon Lindelof wrote the pilot and will serve as an executive producer alongside Nicole Kassell, who is directing, and Tom Spezialy respectively.
