Amblin Entertainment and James Wan’s Atomic Monster production label are teaming up on a remake of the 1990's horror comedy Arachnophobia.
The original film was directed by Frank Marshall and starred Jeff Daniels, Harley Jane Kozak John Goodman and Julian Sands and would gross a respectable $53-Million domestically.
The plot focused on a newly discovered Venezuelan spider that is transported to a small American town and proceeds to reproduce a new species of eight-legged freaks that begin killing off the town’s unsuspecting residents.
The new film is in the extremely early stages of development, with no cast or directors attached. James Wan will produce and Frank Marshall will serve as executive producer.
