Disney has released the first trailer for Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Quest.

Serving as the fifth season of Avengers Assemble, this season takes over from Secret Wars and sees Wakanda's own King T’Challa dominating the series this time around.

When the mysterious Shadow Council arises to challenge Wakanda, T’Challa teams up with Shuri to decide whether or not his duties to the Avengers come before his role as king.

When an ancient and mysterious threat rises to destroy Wakanda, Black Panther must cast away old alliances, old rules, and old friends and chart a new course forward for himself and for the people of Wakanda. Alan Tudyk Joins Doom Patrol As Mr. Nobody

The upcoming DC Universe series Doom Patrol has found its villain.

Firefly alum Alan Tudyk has joined the cast of the highly anticipated series as surrealist villain Mr. Nobody. The character was a key adversary to the Doom Patrol in writer Grant Morrison’s celebrated run on the DC Comics title, and was once a member of the Brotherhood Of Evil.

Eventually rejected, Mr. Nobody tried to prove himself worthy of rejoining by undergoing experiments led by a former Nazi scientist. These experiments gave him the power to drain the sanity from human beings. However, the procedure also drove the villain insane and he would go on to form his own group - The Brotherhood of Dada.

Alan Tudyk, who also voiced K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is no stranger to the DC Universe. Aside from playing Bruce Wayne's rather self-absorbed cousin on the short-lived NBC comedy Powerless, Tudyk has also voiced the likes of Superman, Green Arrow and the Barry Allen version of The Flash in several DC animated projects.

He joins a cast that includes Brendan Fraser as Robotman, Dwain Murphy as Negative Man, April Bowlby as Elasti-Woman, and Joivan Wade as Cyborg.

The series launches next year on DC Universe.

Spider-Woman Co-Creator Marie Severin Passes

More sad news to report this afternoon as Spider-Woman co-creator Marie Severin has passed away at the age of 89 following a series of strokes.

Irene Vartanoff, Severin's close friend and former Marvel employee, announced Severin's death on Facebook earlier today saying, "I'm very sorry to report that Marie Severin, the funniest and nicest woman in the comic book biz ever, is no more. Here's a pic from happier days only a few years ago. I would have cropped myself out of this photo, but notice where Marie's left hand is. Incorrigible! Love you, Marie."

Severin first began working in the comics industry in the late 1940s as a colorist for EC Comics. She would eventually start working for Marvel in the 1950's, serving as the publisher's head colorist until 1972. Severin would also go on to co-create the popular comic heroine Spider-Woman and design the character's costume around that same time.

Severin, who was inducted into the Will Eisner Comics Hall of Fame in 2001, would also work on The Incredible Hulk and Kull the Conqueror during her time at Marvel.

The team here at Infinite Earths would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Marie Severin. May fond memories comfort you during this time.

Rest in peace, Marie! Thanks for the memories!

Ghost Rider Co-Creator Gary Friedrich Has Died

Comic book writer Gary Friedrich has passed away at the age of 75.

Friedrich's nephew wrote of his uncle's passing on Facebook earlier today.

After getting his start at Charlton, Gary Friedrich was recruited to Marvel Comics in the 1960s thanks to his then high school friend Roy Thomas. He would quickly make a name for himself with the publisher by serving as the writer of Sgt. Fury And His Howling Commandos before moving on to write issues of Captain America, Daredevil and others.

Gary Friedrich is perhaps best known for being the writer and co-creator of the famed Marvel character Ghost Rider alongside the likes artist Mike Ploog and editor Roy Thomas. The character first appeared in the pages of 1973’s Marvel Spotlight #5, with Friedrich also wroting the Ghost Rider ongoing series that spun out of Marvel Spotlight.

Friedrich left comics entirely in 1978 after writing for Skywald’s black and white horror magazines in the mid-1970s. However, he would return to work on Bombast for Topps Comics in the 90s.

Tony Isabella posted the following statement on Facebook from Friedrich’s longtime friend and colleague, Roy Thomas:

"I won’t go into details at this point, but I wanted to mention that one of my oldest and dearest friends, Gary Friedrich, passed away last night, from the effects of Parkison’s, which he had had for several years. That and his near-total hearing loss had left him feeling isolated in recent years, and his wife Jean seems content that he is finally at peace. As many of you will know, he did considerable work for Marvel during the late 1960s and 1970s, and for Charlton in the 1960s, including a remembered run on SGT. FURY, stints on CAPTAIN AMERICA, DAREDEVIL, SHIELD, and others, and of course the basic concept/creation of the motorcycle-riding Ghost Rider at Marvel. I’d know Gary since I was in college and he still in high school, when he came to work at the Palace Theatre in Jackson, MO, and some of my happiest memories of our days in the rock band he founded circa 1962 and which existed for a couple of years."

In recent years, Friedrich is perhaps best known for his lawsuit against Marvel in 2007, claiming that the rights to Ghost Rider defaulted to him in 2001. He would end up losing the lawsuit in 2011, but ruling was overturned in 2013 on appeal.

In September of 2013, Friedrich and Marvel agreed to a settlement.

Rest in peace, Mr. Friedrich! Your legacy will forever live on in your creation!

The team at Infinite Earth would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Gary Friedrich! May found memories comfort you during this very trying time!
