Batgirl and the Boy Wonder head to Riverdale!
Batman has received a panicked distress call from Veronica Lodge, but with The Bookworm on the loose, the Caped Crusader sends Robin and Batgirl to Riverdale to investigate - under cover as transfer students Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon.
Meanwhile, the situation is getting weirder for Archie and Company, as the adults in Riverdale just don't seem to be acting like themselves. However, before he has a chance to investigate, Gotham's most nefarious ne'er-do-wells arrive in town and begin putting a new plan into practice - recruiting the teenagers of Riverdale, unaffected by Circe's song, to their cause. And, who better to start with then Archie's ultimate nemesis, Reggie Mantle?
And just you wait, Jughead Jones! The greatest villains in Gotham are also gunning for you! But, at least you won't have to worry about falling asleep in class again, right?
The latest issue of Archie Meets Batman '66 is a seriously swinging good time, that seamlessly combines two major 60's icons into one of the most enjoyable books of the year! As crossovers go, this is shaping up to be one of the very best! Upbeat and full of charm, it's a nice change from the dark and gritty that reminds us how fun comic books can really be!
Kudos to writers Jeff Parker and Michael Moreci for injecting a big portion of campy fun into comic books once again, and to artist Dan Parent and his team for perfectly capturing the spirit of this carefree, bygone era - and paying respect to the memories of Adam West and Yvonne Craig.
In short, Archie Meets Batman '66 #2 is a tonne of fun! Big, bright and bursting with beauty, it's a successful follow-up that is to keep you grinning from ear to ear!
