The Birds Of Prey are coming together!
After testing multiple actresses to join Margot Robbie in Cathy Yan's DC flick, Warner Bros. has tapped Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell to star in the comic book spinoff.
Winstead will play the Huntress, while Smollett-Bell portrays Black Canary.
Margot Robbie is back in the role of Harley Quinn, whom we last saw in 2016 Suicide Squad.
She'll also produce alongside Sue Kroll and Brian Unkeless.
While official plot details are unknown at this time, Birds Of Prey will see Robbie's Harley Quinn assembling a team of superheroes including Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya, to battle an evil crime lord, rumoured to be the villainous Black Mask.
In DC Comics lore Huntress is Helena Bertinelli, a former mafia princess who was devastated at a young age when her family was killed in a mob hit, turning her into a vigilante and leading her to join the Birds of Prey. Black Canary, also known as Dinah Lance, is a good-natured and idealistic streetfighter in the comics who becomes romantically involved with Green Arrow.
Birds Of Prey hits the big screen on February 7th, 2020.
Production kicks off early next year.
