Late last month, word broke that Mission: Impossible - Fallout actor Alec Baldwin had dropped out of portraying Thomas Wayne in Todd Phillips' Joker. Now, it looks as though the DC origin picture has found his replacement in Brett Cullen.
According to our friends at TheWrap, the Narcos actor will now be portraying Batman's famous father in the film, which just began filming in New York City last week.
The character first appeared in Detective Comics #33 back in 1939, and is a respected physician and philanthropist in Gotham City. In DC Comics lore, Thomas and his wife would be murdered in front of their young son, thus setting the boy on the path to becoming the World's Greatest Detective.
Joker also stars Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron and Robert De Niro.
Look for it in theatres on October 4th, 2019.
