Review: DC Comics - Batman #55

The Beast Is Back In Town!

The Dark Knight returns to newsstands this week in the pages of Batman #55, a dramatic, exciting read that sees the deadly super assassin known as KGBeast back in Gotham City!

Meanwhile, Bruce and Dick find themselves dealing with the spooky Ghost Pharaoh and his hordes of monstrous mummies - all the while, bantering back and forth in that unique way that only the original Dynamic Duo ever could!

Eventually, they find themselves called to the GCPD. Here, Gordon informs them of a mysterious note uncovered at an all-night hotdog stand. However, before they have time to investigate further, a gunshot rings out in the rain soaked night. A gunshot from the KGBeast with Nightwing's name on it!

Batman #55 kicks off a new chapter from Tom King and artist Tony S. Daniel. Connecting to Bruce's time on the Mr. Freeze trial from earlier this summer, it introduces a classic foe back into the fray, and is filled to the brim with beautiful imagery and some of the best on-page chemistry to feature Gotham's Dynamic Duo. Longtime Batman fans are sure to get a real kick out of this latest book and, if you're like us, we'll bet your jaw will be hitting the floor come issue end!

The latest issue of Batman is a dramatic set piece that looks to set the stage for a confrontation between the Caped Crusader and the super assassin known as the KGBeast! We can't wait to see where King and Daniel will take things from here, but we've no doubt it'll be worth the wait!

The KGBeast is back, and Gotham will never be the same again!

Rating: 5/5 - "A dramatic set piece brimming with excellent chemistry, and the return of a classic DC Comics foe!"

Batman #55 hits newsstands today.
