The SEGA Genesis Mini Comes Home This Fall

The Mini Console Wars Continue!

SEGA has officially announced that the SEGA Genesis Mini will be launching across the world this Fall, bringing a selection of 40 legendary games back to store shelves once more!

Sega made the announcement this weekend at SEGA Fes 2019 in Tokyo.

Some of the games set to be included on the North American version of the miniature console include such classics as Altered Beast, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Comix Zone, Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine, Ecco the Dolphin, Gunstar Heroes, Shining Force, Sonic The Hedgehog, Space Harrier II, and ToeJam & Earl. More games will be announced closer to release.

The Genesis Mini will come with a pair of three-button USB controllers and will retail for $79.99, while the Japanese Mega Drive Mini will come with a six-button controller, and will sell for ¥6,980 ($60), or with an additional controller for ¥8,980 yen ($80).

Some of the games set to be included on the Japanese version include Madou Monogatari Ichi, Powerball, Puyo Puyo 2, Rent-a-Hero, Sonic The Hedgehog 2.

M2i s creating the software for the device, which will include different regional variations of some games depending on which version of the console is purchased.
